Every year I look forward to seeing what the color masters over at Sherwin Williams are going to deem the coming years color of the year. This year, it is a very bold choice! The Sherwin Williams 2018 Color of the Year is Oceanside (SW 6496). It is a bright, deep blue color, reminiscent of a mixture of robin’s egg blue and turquoise. It would be a nice addition to an office to keep things bright and exciting, or for a living room to add some pizzazz and depth.
This master bath was custom-built to be ADA accessible, which had both pros and cons. On the pro side, it was nice and roomy with 9-foot ceilings, and a gym-style shower that could practically fit an audience. On the negative side, it didn’t keep water inside of the shower area, and was cold and drafty. I hatched an idea to tile the ceiling and enclose the shower, which would essentially make it a steam shower, since no steam could escape unless the window was open.

Bri’s Perspective: The Belvedere is a highly desirable and prestigious building. It is equivalent to a New York style high-rise condo, but is right in the very heart of downtown Salt Lake City. The building is located next to O.C. Tanner, the Eagle Gate, City Creek, Harmons Grocery, TRAX, a wide variety of restaurants and shopping, and is just blocks away from the State Capitol. The Belvedere was built in 1919, and was originally a hotel that was meant for long-term stays. It has the special designation of being on the National Register of Historic Places, and was converted into condo units in 1978.
Moving to a new real estate brokerage during the holiday season was a gutsy move, but I’m really excited to tell you all about my recent change to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Utah Properties. I have many great friends and colleagues who have worked for Berkshire Hathaway (previously Prudential) for decades, and always sung its praises, but I didn’t realize the full extent of what it was actually like there until I took a tour of the office and met everyone. I was impressed, and absolutely blown away!
