As you may have heard, it’s a seller’s market in Utah right now of epic proportions! Property owners may have had a fleeting thought to not use a Realtor because they assume their house will sell fast, but I say in this market, using a Realtor will pay for itself, and you may end up making more than you ever dreamed of on top of it. I recently sold a home, and I want to tell you all about it, and how we got the sellers $21,000 extra.

Bri’s Perspective: The Belvedere is a highly desirable and prestigious building. It is equivalent to a New York style high-rise condo, but is right in the very heart of downtown Salt Lake City. The building is located next to O.C. Tanner, the Eagle Gate, City Creek, Harmons Grocery, TRAX, a wide variety of restaurants and shopping, and is just blocks away from the State Capitol. The Belvedere was built in 1919, and was originally a hotel that was meant for long-term stays. It has the special designation of being on the National Register of Historic Places, and was converted into condo units in 1978.
Moving to a new real estate brokerage during the holiday season was a gutsy move, but I’m really excited to tell you all about my recent change to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Utah Properties. I have many great friends and colleagues who have worked for Berkshire Hathaway (previously Prudential) for decades, and always sung its praises, but I didn’t realize the full extent of what it was actually like there until I took a tour of the office and met everyone. I was impressed, and absolutely blown away!
Location: 777 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City
Bri’s Perspective: The Bonneville Tower is a three-tiered Mid-Century Modern condo building, rich with history and style. It was constructed in 1964, with designs from architect M.E. Harris, Jr. The building is located on E. South Temple; a street that showcases fine architecture and design from many periods in time, and was named one of America’s ten greatest streets by the American Planning Association. The circular driveway, grand canopied entry, and monogrammed Terrazzo walkway out front make the building feel more like a glamorous Bel-Air hotel, than a condo building in Salt Lake City, but that just adds to its charm and originality. The lobby has floor-to-ceiling black veined marble walls, and decor that looks fresh off the set of Mad Men. Guests are sure to be impressed.

Bri’s Perspective: Throughout this Westgate condo, you’ll find cool industrial details like exposed brick, concrete, piping, and duct-work, which pairs nicely with the soaring ceilings, modern light fixtures, and stained concrete floors. The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, pendant lighting, and cherry cabinetry with modern hardware.
This Westgate condo was a dream to stage. The existing features like the stained concrete flooring, exposed ductwork, concrete, and brick were the perfect elements to build on. Industrial spaces like this one can sometimes feel cold, but by using rugs to differentiate the spaces, and textiles with different patterns and textures, this condo became warm and inviting.
